Hi Tracy, I love your sentiment for childhood, you have a beautiful touch. And the wide angle! woooh! love that angle, very cool…let me know if you head to canberra anytime soon i’d love to meet you.
She likes;
having her back scratched, polly pocket, dressup, her DSi, staying up late, popcorn, her daddy
she doesn’t like;
cleaning her room, sharing her lollies and early mornings

I just love this, the balloons, the colour, the perspective and of course the gorgeous children – they look like they are having such a great time.
Dave & Katrina now live in the US. They’ve lived there for a few years now but make the trip home to Australia when they feel the need. K was my best friend who grew up in the same street as me.
Katrina called me from America prior to making the long trip home to Yass to see if i would be able to get some family shots for her. I couldn’t say yes quick enough!. Katrina, It was so wonderful to meet your hubby, your super cute children and to just reconnect with you after way too many years.
I hope we wont lose contact again. I loved catching up and I’m completely honoured that you chose me to photograph your family.
Katrina’s extended family made the trip to her parents house on the day i was there so there are some extended family shots also with her sisters two boys and other relatives. Ive thrown in a few unscripted moments that i caught just because they are share worthy.

I have an epic amount of images to post from this family session but this is just a teaser post. My computer is misbehaving tonight and doesn’t want to do as i tell it.
More to follow tomorrow. stay tuned.
enjoy! x

Tracy, Tracy, Tracy! I’m envious of your coloring / editing. The work you’ve been doing of late with this new ’style’ is just spectacular! I love the corona / flare, too!
-
These are great!! Such a beautiful family, they’ll love them.
Lots of milk, lots of food colouring and lots and lots of trial and error. Cups courtesy of our local revolve here in Yass.
Troy and his sister were the ball droppers on this occasion. You can see some of my earlier attempts at milksplash photography here and here
Have you ever tried these types of shots? If you have leave a link to your work in the comment section and ill go take a look.

ohmigod these are the bomb!

Looove this type of stuff, Tracy!!! The colours are so cool!! Wicked focusing!
I take him to the park. He lets me take his picture=great teamwork!
I miss climbing trees and swinging so high I thought the swing would tip over.

Isn’t he just too cute for words?
More from this session to follow shortly

As much as i heart my Nikon i like to also use my phone for photography.
With my phone camera I know I’m not going to get the perfect shot, I know i can chop off important bits and somehow get away with it. I know I dont need to know any technical camera settings to make the shot work and my phone camera is way lighter than my ‘proper’ camera which is a bonus ;)
no expensive camera
no expensive software programs
just a cheap low MP camera attached to a phone
Makes for good toy camera fun sometimes.
apps used here are photobooth, shakeitphoto and hipstamatic. I have a few old toy camera style apps but tend to use the shakeitphoto the most.
Whats your favourite iphone app?
p.s Mums out of hospital :)

-
Cool! I love using my iphone too, so convenient! My favourites are Hipstamatic, Camerabag (for ‘polaroids’) and I’ve just discovered Lo-mob
-
Ah look like you have the Hipstamatic app also. Heaps of fun.

Love! Love! Love! I wish I could take shots like this! I love the bird shot with the like, 100 birds flying over-head!
Tracey these images are beautiful, can you tell me what inspired you to create them? (btw shame to divide your time between this and a regular job…hope you can crank this up so you don’t have to do the job!)…anyway, back to the images…this last tulip one is simply gorgeous, what lens are you using? Do you use actions/presets or just work your images yourself?
wow! ALL of these images are so beautiful. nature is so stimulating.
Congrats. Well done.
Thanks, Beth. Re: my job- I would love to be able to support my family just on my photography, but alas, i don’t have the business side down just yet. I would much rather take photos for a living than a desk job :) I find inspiration all around me. Some days I like mother nature. Some days I don’t. Inspiration is a very mixed bag with me :)
The tulip shot was taken @ Floriade last year and I believe i had the Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 at that time. Post processing is a variety of a few favourite actions Ive acquired over time and also sometimes just a curves adjustment is all that’s needed to make me happy with an image. Let me know if you want some links for free actions and ill see what i can muster up :) Thanks for stopping by x
