Born and raised in Yass, NSW which is located near Canberra. I’m currently a SAHM who likes to take photos. I
want to live in Darwin. I now now shoot with a Nikon. I don’t feel comfortable in large crowds. Love
learning new things and I have a love of all things quirky.
I love; the rain, coffee, Seinfeld-best show ever!, my
cameras, reality shows, my family, Polaroid-I don’t own one, but i want
one, to laugh so hard my cheeks hurt
I hate; Fake people, Big dogs, mobile ring tone ads, creepy
crawlies, having my picture taken, the dark, that I cry a lot, that my
sisters live too far away from me :( and talking about myself
People may not always like my work and I’m ok with that. Really, I am. I don’t take photos to please other people. ..I did. For a long time I tried to create what I thought people wanted to see and buy and it was bringing me down. I don’t anymore. First and foremost, I take photos for myself and my family. A way of documenting our lives and to keep a visual record of our days.
funny moments that made me smile

the not so funny moments

moments that I was glad I got to document visually because otherwise there would be no proof

I also take photos to push my creativity and try to do things a little differently than the norm. Sometimes I surprise myself with what I can do when I truly believe in myself.

Do i have any regrets when it comes to my photography so far? My one biggest regret is not taking more photographs of Nathan, which is probably why I take so many of my new little man, Troy. Nathan passed away 5 years ago and I wished I had more photos of him. I only have a few but what Images I have of him, they are without a doubt my most favorite photos. They are not beautiful shots, call them happsnaps if you will, but they are of my boy and I love them. This image below is one of Nathan and myself. I look nothing like that now and do realize the need to have more photos with my children. I am working on this as we speak because I don’t want to have to regret not having enough family photos with all of us in them. If you don”t have a family portrait or photos of you and your children/parent/sibling together. Get them done. Have you been considering getting them done? Don’t consider- just do it! because tomorrow it could be too late and you will struggle with that regret for the rest of your life. Contact me if you want me to help make this happen for you.

So, I’m dreaming of things that never were, haven’t actually happened yet, dreaming of what I hope to achieve with my photography and my life and I’m at the stage in my life where i want to make those dreams into a reality. It might take me longer than others, It might not even happen, but I’m not going to give up until I’m completely satisfied with my journey. I hope you share it with me.
Never stop believing in yourself.

My threesixfive project is slowly coming together. I hate it most days, I’m late with images but am pushing myself to keep it going. If you’re interested you can view the entire project over here but as an update I thought I’d post a few images here as well since i haven’t blogged for awhile.

I asked Rosie to open her eyes a bit more while smiling for the camera and this is what she gave me lol

Anyone remember that song ‘funny face’? Mum used to sing it to us kids. It used to be on one of our country and western tapes we kept in the kingswood.
I love the rain. Always have, always will. When i was little mum used to get me a blanket and pillow and I’d lay at our front door watching the rain through the screen door. I find something really soothing and healing about the rain. I don’t know how to explain it but it makes me feel better. I wished we had a tin roof to listen to the rain at bedtime. Naturally, my kids have a love of the rain too. Nothing better than popping on their gumboots and getting outside in it. What kid doesn’t like the rain?
Its been raining all day today so Troy had some fun with the rain, and I had some fun with Troy. First up is my photo a day image # 39|365

I love that you can see the raindrops in these next 2 images. He looks so sad in the 2nd one, but it was just one of his many faces.

Our back yard is in serious need of a mow. I don’t want to cut it though as its so green and lush. It makes for the perfect backdrop.

Troy calls these little dandelions ‘wishes’ because when he blows them he makes a wish. He tries and tries but very rarely seems to be able to actually blow them off. Its quite funny watching him fill his little cheeks up with air and then blow with all his might. Occasionally he pulls it off

Shot this on our trip home from Batemans bay and knew id use it for his birthday (which was yesterday). Silly me forgot i had it till i come across it this morning. Its also my photo a day image for day 37/365.

I swear this kid is the most photographed kid in Yass. Hes my little muse and is most of the time happy for me to take his picture.
